What is Sculptra?
Sculptra is a dermal filler made with poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA), an absorbable ingredient used in implants and sutures. PLLA stimulates the production of collagen in order to help heal the skin and produce healthy new proteins. When Sculptra is injected in the face or body, it produces instant volume to fill in fine lines and wrinkles. As it fades, it creates new collagen to take its place. Over time, only natural collagen is left.
Reviews from our patients
“Da Vinci with a needle”
I can’t say enough good things about Hayley and her team at The Look Med Spa, I absolutely love them! I live in Los Angeles, the land of med spas, and I actually come all the way to Vegas specifically to see Hayley for all my botox, lip filler and laser skin care needs. I actually call Hayley “Da Vinci with a needle” because I think she is so insanely good and talented at what she does, she is a true artist!!!

Sculptra is a great option for moderate to deep lines and folds in the lower face. Some of the most common treatment areas for Sculptra include:
- Smile lines
- Marionette lines
- Chin wrinkles
Sculptra works best in these areas because aging tends to slow your body’s collagen production, causing sagging in the lower face. Sculptra is also commonly used as a way to lift and enhance the butt, a process called the Sculptra butt lift.
ZO PIGMENT CONTROL CRÈME
Correct pigmentation disorders, promote even skin tones and mitigate pigment-forming irritations.

Sculptra can be a great option for people who are looking for more substantial treatment of aging signs. It provides a different approach to anti-aging than traditional dermal fillers and can achieve long-term results by treating the root cause of aging. If you’ve tried hyaluronic acid fillers or simply want the most effective solution to deep folds in the lower face, Sculptra can help. During a consultation with our experienced injectors, you’ll discuss your health history and determine whether Sculptra is the best option for your goals.
How Long Does Sculptra Treatment Take?
Sculptra treatment can take only 15 minutes. You’ll begin by discussing your cosmetic goals with our experienced injectors to determine the best approach. You’ll create a sensible treatment plan based on honest recommendations from our injectors about what kind of results you can expect. Once you’re ready, the product is placed under the skin with a fine needle, and you can return home.
Sculptra Aftercare
Sculptra can take several weeks to produce final results. During this time, it will begin to stimulate new collagen – it can take a year or more to fully produce new collagen. After your treatment session, we recommend these instructions:
- Five times per day, massage the area for five minutes
- Avoid exercising or elevating your heart rate for two days
- Avoid alcohol for two days
- Avoid blood-thinning medications like ibuprofen
It’s normal to have some redness at the injection sites after treatment, but it can be covered with makeup if needed. Sculptra can produce results for two years, at which point you can return for re-treatment.
Meet Our Experts What is Sculptra, and how does it work to restore lost facial volume?
Sculptra is a dermal filler made up of poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA). The. PLLA stimulates collagen production. This increase in natural collagen production not only smooths out the skin, but it also gradually restores lost facial volume over time. As the Sculptra formula breaks down, you’ll eventually be left with your own new and natural collagen.
How is Sculptra different from traditional hyaluronic acid fillers like Juvederm or Restylane?
The main difference between Sculptra and traditional hyaluronic acid fillers is that Sculptra doesn’t contain hyaluronic acid. It contains poly-L-lactic acid, which stimulates collagen production. Hyaluronic acid fillers also produce results instantly. Sculptra can produce some initial results right away, but most of the improvements take weeks as the formula kickstarts collagen production.
What cosmetic concerns can Sculptra treat, and what areas of the face and body are commonly targeted?
Sculptra is most often used to address volume loss, deep folds, and wrinkles. It’s used to target the cheeks, temples, nasolabial folds, chin, neck, hips, and buttocks.
How soon will I see results after a Sculptra treatment, and how long do the effects typically last?
You will not see full results immediately with Sculptra. While you may see some initial results right away, the most noticeable improvements take a few weeks to show up. The effects typically last about two years.
Can Sculptra be used for non-facial enhancements like the Sculptra butt lift?
Absolutely! Sculpta is a perfect non-surgical treatment for those looking to add volume to their buttocks. With just a few simple injections, Sculptra can increase collagen production over time and enhance the shape and size of your buttocks. You’ll achieve natural-looking and long-lasting results without the need for invasive surgery.
Who is considered a good candidate for Sculptra injections?
Patients who are in generally good health with realistic expectations of treatment and who are looking for a non-surgical treatment option to restore lost volume and reduce the appearance of lines and wrinkles are good candidates for Sculptra injections. This can be an especially beneficial treatment for those who are looking for longer-lasting and more natural results.
Are there any side effects or risks associated with Sculptra fillers?
As with any treatment, there are some risks and side effects associated with Sculptra. Some of the most common side effects of Sculptra include swelling, redness, bruising, and tenderness. Risks can include lumps, allergic reactions to the Sculptra formula, and infection, but these are typically rare.
How long does a typical Sculptra appointment take at The Look Med Spa?
The actual treatment time typically doesn’t take more than 30 minutes. That said, it takes time for the numbing agent to take effect, so you should schedule for about an hour in total.
What is the recovery process like after Sculptra injections, and are there any restrictions?
There is very little recovery time after Sculptra injections. You may have some redness, swelling, and bruising, but those side effects will dissipate within a few hours to a couple of days. As you recover, you’ll want to avoid strenuous activities, alcohol, hot tubs, and excess sun exposure for about 24-48 hours. But beyond that, you will likely be able to go back to your normal routine.
How much does Sculptra cost in Las Vegas, and how many sessions are recommended for optimal results?
How much your Sculptra injections cost will depend on the results you’re looking for and the number of injections needed to achieve your goals. On average, Sculptra injections in Las Vegas are around $500 to $1,000 per vial. We typically recommend 2-3 treatment sessions spaced 4-8 weeks apart for the best results.
